Fall Maintenance Checklist

I believe that part of being your home inspector means helping you maintain your home. A lof expensive defects start out as simple maintenance items. We would save ourselves a lot of time, money, and headaches by putting some effort into maintaining our homes. As they say an ounce of prevention, is worth more than a pound of cure!

Most of the defects that we find during a home inspection are from deferred maintenance, or caused by deferred maintenance.

For example, rotted window trim on the exterior is generally caused by not maintaining the caulk and paint on the wood. Rotted window trim can cause moisture intrusion into the wall leading to more damage.
